Overview of CAIA
The Chartered Alternative Investment
AnalystSM (CAIA) Association is a global not-for-profit
organization that promotes the only specialized educational standards
in the field of alternative investments.
The Association was established based on the
philosophy that a strong foundation of knowledge is essential for all
finance professionals. This philosophy resulted in the sponsoring of
the CAIASM designation. Attainment of this designation certifies an
individual's commitment to the alternative investment profession and
mastery of its concepts and practices.
CAIA candidates include investment advisors,
analysts, fund managers, fund administrators, accountants, lawyers, as
well as administrative staff. The candidates range in experience from
the novice to the seasoned professional.
The CAIA program has seen markedly increasing
numbers of candidates since it was established in 2002. In fact, the
number of new candidates has almost doubled for each of the recent
exam periods. The designation has fast become recognized
by institutions, regulators, and investors as the seal of merit in the
alternative investment industry.
